Child abuse occurs at every socio-economic level, across all cultural lines, and at every education level. When a child is abused, they cannot form healthy secure attachments with their parents or sometimes even with other adults and their peers. 1/3 of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the vicious cycle of child abuse. Four children die every day as a result of child abuse, and 3/4 of these children are under the age of 4.

Sending care packages to these troops abroad not only provides them with much needed materials such as sunscreen but also can raise their morale and voices our appreciation.

Autism is a disorder that severely affects the way people relate to and communicate with others. There is no cure or set treatment for people living with autism. In most cases parents notice symptoms, such as a lack of verbal communication and uneasiness with physical contact, when the child is 2 or 3 years old. There is no cure for autism, nor is there a set treatment aside from expensive highly structured behavioral programs that vary in their effectiveness. Today, 1 in 150 children are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, yet there is no known cause.

A woman has a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer sometime in her life, and a 1 in 33 chance of dying of breast cancer. About 180,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed last year, but the incidence of cancer death is decreasing mostly due to early detection. There are 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

Early detection increases the 5-year survival rate from 89% to 98%, meaning that if caught early, only 2% of women with breast cancer will die after five years of being diagnosed. Thus it is important to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of women around the world.
